About Coronavirus

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by a novel coronavirus now called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This virus resembles the serious human coronavirus types like MERS and SARS, which are under the “beta” subgrouping of virus.

The following are the symptoms of COVID-19 infection:

  • Flu-like symptoms  that can escalate to
  • Fever
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath.

Other complications of COVID-19 may include:

  • Difficulty in breathing,
  • High fever
  • Pneumonia
  • Severe Cough
  • Organ Failure
  • Death

Coronavirus is spread through sustained contact with “viral and respiratory droplets” from an infected person’s coughs or sneezes.

Unfortunately, there is no known or recorded drug or vaccine currently available to treat infected individuals yet. Instead people under investigation and observation are required to be on isolation and quarantine.

Health authorities and ministries all around the world promote symptom relief and precautionary methods especially lockdown, social distancing, stay-in-place and/or community quarantines and immediate health assistance if you think you have the early symptoms for testing and proper medications.
