Protecting Your Vetrazzo So Looks Its Very Best

May it be floor installations, wall treatment or kitchen countertop, Vetrazzo is a beautiful and expressive designed material for commercial and residential setting.

It is considered to be the most ecologically friendly option as it is made from post-consumer recycled glasses like chips and broken windows, dinnerware, kitchenware, stained glasses, broken glasses gathered from building demolitions and other sources, combined with non-resin binder of Portland cement and aggregates. Vetrazzo doesn’t contain toxic chemicals like petroleum products or additives on its fabrication so it is safe to use especially for chemically-sensitive family members.

It is easy-to-maintain, durable and highly-resistant to heat, moisture and molds. The only downside of it is it is a bit pricey than other stone materials but with being a beautiful and unique artisan-made product, a lot of homeowners are choosing it as a lifetime home masterpiece.

Durable as it is, make sure that your vetrazzo flooring and countertops are protected from abrasive pads, lacquers, paint removers and chemicals like hydrofluoric acid, methylene chloride and trichloroethylene that can damage the surface. If this happens, make sure that you wash it immediately with a mild soap solution, then rinse with water.
